Nowadays, almost the entire waterway of 52 km is repaired, 13 lock chambers put into operation and both regular and tourist water transport between Otrokovice and Petrov and Skalica (Slovakia) enabled. Tourists can use 8 ports and 16 docks. Thanks to the construction of the Slovak port of Skalica, the Bata Canal has become an international waterway. Waterway modifications will continue with the aim of bringing it to Hodonín and Kroměříž (the so-called Haná Athens).
